As happy as we were to learn that "Mercenaries" mode was returning for Resident Evil 5, we were a little put out to learn that you could only play with a friend if he was sharing the couch with you. Luckily our disappointment was short-lived, as IGN reports the mode has been patched on 360 to add online play, before the public has even gotten its mitts on it. Update: A patch for the PS3 version has been released.

March 26 will be the day when Burn Zombie Burn! unleashes total carnage and lets us smash zombies in yet another training simulator preparing us for the imminent apocalypse. The arcade shooter is the latest game from British-based Kuju's downloadable game studio, doublesix. BZB is set "across six classic American-horror movie inspired levels," with gameplay that'll instantly remind folks of classic arcade quarter guzzlers like Total Carnage and Smash TV. Get a better idea of the zombie hoard you'll be facing off against by checking out the video after the break.

Game Crazy is holding a little palpitation-inducing promotion during its Resident Evil 5 midnight launches this Thursday. Five customers who purchase the game will find a "T-Virus" icon inside the box, which will grant them a trip to Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, KY -- a "haunted hospital" shut down in the '80s for "alleged" patient abuse.

There were so many things going on in the last God of War III trailer that we're certain you might have missed some of the more subtle, yet crucial, details. Take, for example, the scar across Kratos' abdomen; did you notice that the first time around? Yeah, we didn't either, not until this annotated version of the trailer popped up and pointed things out.

Who says you can't teach an Old Snake new tricks? Konami is looking to do just that, as evidenced by a job recruitment page. The page went live on Friday and explains Konami is seeking people to help with "new developments" in the Metal Gear series, specifically for home consoles and mobile devices (more Metal Gear Solid Touch?). The job posting also lists other titles that Konami is working on that aren't part of the Metal Gear series, such as Winning Eleven, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball, and Bemani, as well as new online game content and pachislot machines.
